The World Air Quality Index project might look big, but it is actually a small but motivated team behind it. There are still many things that the project team want to achieve:
from 115 countries
- Coverage: Increase world-wide air quality monitoring coverage, especially for Middle-East and Africa.
- Documentation: Write explanatory articles about air pollution.
- Translation: Provide translations for up to 100 languages.
- Data Science: Provide free data over the whole historical records.
- Consumer Product: Review air purfiers, air monitors, masks.
- Engineering: Develop new applications and visualizations.

- Ultra fine particles (PM1) - are they more dangerous than PM2.5 and is it worth measuring them.
- CO2 - is it an outdoor air pollutant, a climate warmer or an indoor pollutant?
- Indoor Air Quality - what are the pollutant to be aware of?
- Health effect of sulfur dioxide for area close to volcanic mountains
- Open Data Platform for accessign real-time and historical Air Quality Data
- World Ensemble forecast modeling
- Statistical and deep learning based data facts
- Researching new accurate sensors for gas pollutants
- New visualization solutions for the real-time observations and forecast
- API for accessing the real-time observations and forecast
- Time travel Machine - for seeing the air quality at any day back in time
- Applications for i-phone, etc..

As one can imagine, the current project team is just too small to be able to handle all of this work, and this is why we need help. Your help!
We do believe that the real motivation of the work we are doing is to see the daily impact on the world citizens. One of the users told us one day that "worse than disinformation is the lack of information: I did not know that pollution was so high. But now I know". That makes us proud to give this free information and promote pollution awareness.
If you would like to contribute to the World Air Quality Index project, then welcome to the team. Just send us a message, and let's together drive our planet toward a pollution free.
